Adult Learning, 2010 cohort
My research involves how teacher research impacts teacher identity development of preservice teachers in a community of practice in a community college teacher education program.
I am a peer reviewer for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation (ECADA) system. I was named Faculty Leadership Fellow by the ECADA program in 2008 for my work as faculty in an accredited ECADA program. I am VP of Professional Development for Associate Degree Teacher Educators Access to Shared Knowledge and Practices (ACCESS), and was awarded the Gail Perry Teacher Research Award in fall 2010. I have presented at six NAEYC Professional Development Institutes, most recently in June 2011, in Providence, RI.
What are your personal and professional hopes/goals for your PhD journey and beyond?
I hope to contribute a voice representing community college teacher education programs and students to the literature.
Has a particular book, author or thinker inspired your educational thinking?
I have been strongly influenced by the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy, as well as NAEYC Voices of Practitioners journal http://www.naeyc.org/publications/vop.
